- Casid™ HSA is a natural vegetable-based thixotropic gelling agent. It has the ability to gel hydrocarbons, many esters, as well as certain silicones. Hydroxystearic Acid provides structure to anhydrous products or stick formulations, and has a higher melting point than stearic acid. Casid™ HSA can be used as secondary emulsifier and viscosity building agent when added to the oil phase of oil in water emulsions.
