Kris Maynard

Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder, & Chairman of the Board of Directors
Kris Maynard was born and raised in rural Ohio and graduated from Miami University in with a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology in December 1989. His chemical career started with Stepan Chemical Company in Chicago, Illinois in the spring of 1991 after spending several months in Russia doing missions work and working numerous odd jobs during 1990. Kris and his wife, Cindy, were married in May of 1991 and relocated from Chicago to Atlanta, Georgia where he was assigned a territory in the Southeastern United States as a distributor specialist. In May of 1996, Kris and Chris Gerlach founded Essential Ingredients.

Kris serves as the Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Board at Essential Ingredients. His favorite thing about Essential Ingredients is to help to shape a work environment that provides a pathway for employees to utilize their giftedness. He is also passionate about building personal relationships with customers and suppliers, understanding their businesses, and exploring creative ways to help them be more successful.

Kris and Cindy have three children; Rachael, Ryan, and Justin. Kris is an avid fisherman and hunter and, in his free time, enjoys exploring the mountains with friends and family near their farm in Ellijay, Georgia.
Justin Jordan
President & Chief Operating Officer
Born in South Carolina, Justin Jordan graduated from The Citadel in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Justin serves as President and Chief Operating Officer for Essential Ingredients. Prior to joining Essential Ingredients in 2004, Justin served in Director-level roles in Human Resources at BellSouth, responsible for HR functions and their Information Systems. He was certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resource Management and completed the Advanced HR Executive program from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. During the first five years of his career, he worked in software development at BellSouth and Management Science America.

Justin has been married to Elizabeth Martin Jordan since 1989 and they have four children: Rebecca, Hannah, Will, and Sarah Kate. His hobbies include running and reading.

Debra Bull

General Manager,
Noble Roots LLC
Debra Bull was born and raised in western Michigan and moved to Georgia in 2003. She began her career at Essential Ingredients in 2004 as a Customer Service Representative. Debra has a passion and commitment to serving customers, a creative approach to process improvements and innovative problem solving, and is dedicated to empowering others toward operational excellence. She had been promoted within Essential Ingredients, serving as Customer Relations Manager and Director of Customer Relations and Logistics. She is currently serving as General Manager of Noble Roots LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Essential Ingredients. In this role, she leads the company’s efforts in providing small pack sizes of quality ingredients that meet the unique needs of start-up and growth stage beauty brands in the DIY, Indie Beauty, Personal Care, and related industries.

Deb married Scott, her high school sweetheart, in 1988 and they have five children: Jason, Sonya, Micah, Jordan, and Caleb. They enjoy attending their kids’ sporting events, taking family vacations to the mountains and the beach, and spoiling their grandchildren.

Lois Truelove

Director, Customer Relations
Lois Truelove was born and raised in southern Louisiana, where she attended the University of New Orleans. Throughout her professional career, Lois has served in various industries including banking, teaching, and real estate. Lois joined Essential Ingredients in 2013. Since then, she has held roles as Customer Service Representative, Customer Service Team Lead, and, most recently, Customer Relations Manager. Lois is committed to making sure customers are delighted with the customer experience that Essential Ingredients provides.

Lois and her husband Chad have three children: Morgan, Graham, and Mason. Lois likes to take her dog on long walks, cook, enjoy quiet family time, and travel back to New Orleans as much as possible.

Mark Chilton

Vice President, Marketing & Product Line Management
Mark Chilton graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Marketing. He received his M.B.A. from Mercer University. He worked in several industries including commercial real estate, telecommunications and consulting prior to joining Essential Ingredients in 2006.

At Essential Ingredients, Mark is responsible for the marketing efforts of the company as well as the relationships with major suppliers. His team provides a high degree of transparency on sales activity to suppliers, which affords them an unparalleled view of their business through the distribution channel.

Mark and his wife, Jan, have two adult children and enjoy reading, visiting new places, and relaxing with friends.

Mary Mroczkowski

Director, Supply Chain
Mary Mroczkowski graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a B.S. in Environmental Public Health. She worked for 10 years for an aluminum distributor where she managed the customer service team. Mary joined Essential Ingredients in 1999. Since that time she has been responsible for a variety of functions including customer service, purchasing, warehouse operations, logistics, and third-party warehouses.

Mary loves to solve problems and enjoys the challenge of analyzing the problem and finding the solution. Mary enjoys taking walks with her husband and two dogs. She also enjoys meeting new people, being inspired by their stories, watching movies, and hiking.

Mike Davies

Vice President, Research & Development
Mike Davies has been in the personal care industry for over twenty years, working previously at Chattem, Inc. and Amway, Inc. Mike joined Essential Ingredients in 2003. He has a B.A. in Chemistry from Kenyon College, M.B.A. from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and an M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Cincinnati.

Mike is married to Sharon Davies and they have two daughters, McKenzie and Ansleigh. He likes to spend time with his family, being outdoors for any reason, and reading.

Michael Young

Vice President, Essential Elements
Michael Young was raised in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. After serving in the US Army as a short-range Air Defense Officer, Mike started his chemical career as a Sales Engineer with Nalco Chemical Company in Los Angeles, CA. He earned his M.B.A. in 2004 from Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN. Mike has served in progressive leadership roles in Global Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Applications and Operations with 25+ years of experience in the Chemical industry.

Mike married his wife, Carie Young, in 2015. They live in South Bend, Indiana and have a blended family of 5 children: Kai, Kade, Kyra, Kenna, and Quinn, with the 2 girls being adopted from Irkutsk, Russia. They enjoy walking, hiking, kids’ events, and travel.

Todd Miller

Vice President, Sales
Todd Miller grew up in the chemical city of Midland, Michigan. He joined Dow Chemical Company in 1997 after graduating from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. While progressing through a variety of specialties sales roles for Dow, Todd earned his M.B.A. from the University of Georgia. In 2008, he joined Lonza, soon moving into sales leadership. He most recently served as North American Sales Director for Lonza’s Consumer Care business. Todd came to Essential Ingredients in April of 2016.

Todd and his wife, Nicole, live in Dacula, Georgia with their two children, Grant and Charlotte. In his spare time, Todd enjoys writing and following politics.

Vince Botta

Director, Talent Management & Administration
Vince Botta graduated from Auburn University and shortly after began a career working for Gwinnett County Public Schools in 1990. While working for GCPS Vince served as a teacher, department chair, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Human Resources before transitioning to work at Essential Ingredients.

As a new hire in 2016, Vince currently serves as the Director of Talent Management and Administration. His goal is to provide excellent support and world-class customer service for all employees. Vince was drawn to Essential Ingredients because of the quality of the people, the culture of the work-environment, and the opportunity to make a difference.

Vince and Ann have two children; Caleb and Katelyn. In his spare time Vince enjoys reading, being with family, and spending time outdoors.
